About this policy
This Privacy Policy explains how TAAX APP LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”) handles information in Thaw Claw Timer, our mobile companion timer application. It applies to the app and communications you send us about the app. Purchases of the physical Thaw Claw product and use of our website are subject to any separate policies provided for those services.
Information stored on your device
The app stores your timer selection and settings on your device. This may include the selected food type, food weight and weight unit, timer duration, scheduled finish time, remaining time, timer status, and sound preference. We use this information to calculate estimates, run the countdown, restore your timer when you reopen the app, and apply your sound settings. Food weight refers to the food you are thawing, not your personal body weight. The app does not transmit these timer details to us or to a developer-operated server.
Information the app does not collect
The current version does not require an account and does not ask for your name, email address, payment information, contacts, photos, microphone access, camera access, or location. It contains no advertising, analytics, behavioral tracking, or remote push-notification service. App screens, fonts, images, and timer calculations are bundled with the app so its core features work offline. We do not sell or share your timer information for advertising.
Notifications and permissions
With your permission, the app schedules local timer-completion notifications through your device’s operating system. Android may also ask you to enable precise alarm timing. These permissions help deliver reminders, including when the app is in the background. They do not give us access to your timer information. You can change notification, sound, and precise-alarm permissions in your device settings. If you disable them, the countdown can still be used, but completion alerts may be unavailable or delayed. Notification content, such as the food type, may appear on your lock screen according to your device’s notification settings.
Support communications
If you contact us by email or another support channel, we receive the information you choose to provide, such as your email address, message, and any attachments. We use it to answer your question, troubleshoot problems, maintain support records, and meet applicable legal obligations. Our email and support providers may process those messages to deliver those services. Please do not include passwords, payment card details, or other unnecessary sensitive information. Support correspondence is separate from the timer information stored locally in the app.
Retention and deletion
Timer information and sound preferences remain on your device until the app overwrites or resets them, you clear the app’s storage where your operating system provides that option, or you delete the app. Canceling a timer resets its active timer state; your sound preference may remain. We cannot access or remotely delete app data stored only on your device. Your device’s backup and restore settings may affect whether information is retained or restored. We retain support correspondence only as reasonably necessary to handle your request, maintain relevant records, and comply with legal obligations. You may contact us to request deletion of support information we hold, subject to applicable legal exceptions. The app has no user account to delete.
Platform services and security
Your device, operating system, app store, and their service providers may separately process information for downloads, updates, backups, diagnostics, security, or other platform functions under their own policies and your settings. This does not mean that the app sends us your timer selections. App settings are stored within the storage provided to the app by your operating system. For information you send to support, we use reasonable safeguards appropriate to that information. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure.
Intended audience
Thaw Claw Timer is intended for adults aged 18 and over. It is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through the app. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us through a support channel, contact us so we can review and address it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy if the app or our information practices change. The updated version will be posted on this page with a revised effective date. If a change requires additional notice or consent, we will provide it as required.

SECTION 1 - WHAT DO WE DO WITH YOUR INFORMATION?
When you purchase something from our store, as part of the buying and selling process, we collect the personal information you give us such as your name, address and email address.
When you browse our store, we also automatically receive your computer’s internet protocol (IP) address in order to provide us with information that helps us learn about your browser and operating system.
Email marketing (if applicable): With your permission, we may send you emails about our store, new products and other updates.

How do you get my consent?
When you provide us with personal information to complete a transaction, verify your credit card, place an order, arrange for a delivery or return a purchase, we imply that you consent to our collecting it and using it for that specific reason only.

SECTION 3 - DISCLOSURE
We may disclose your personal information if we are required by law to do so or if you violate our Terms of Service.
SECTION 4 - SHOPIFY
Our store is hosted on Shopify Inc. They provide us with the online e-commerce platform that allows us to sell our products and services to you.
Your data is stored through Shopify’s data storage, databases and the general Shopify application. They store your data on a secure server behind a firewall.
Payment:
If you choose a direct payment gateway to complete your purchase, then Shopify stores your credit card data. It is encrypted through the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS). Your purchase transaction data is stored only as long as is necessary to complete your purchase transaction. After that is complete, your purchase transaction information is deleted.
All direct payment gateways adhere to the standards set by PCI-DSS as managed by the PCI Security Standards Council, which is a joint effort of brands like Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover.
PCI-DSS requirements help ensure the secure handling of credit card information by our store and its service providers.

SECTION 5 - THIRD-PARTY SERVICES
In general, the third-party providers used by us will only collect, use and disclose your information to the extent necessary to allow them to perform the services they provide to us.
However, certain third-party service providers, such as payment gateways and other payment transaction processors, have their own privacy policies in respect to the information we are required to provide to them for your purchase-related transactions.
For these providers, we recommend that you read their privacy policies so you can understand the manner in which your personal information will be handled by these providers.
In particular, remember that certain providers may be located in or have facilities that are located a different jurisdiction than either you or us. Once you leave our store’s website or are redirected to a third-party website or application, you are no longer governed by this Privacy Policy or our website’s Terms of Service.

SECTION 6 - SECURITY
To protect your personal information, we take reasonable precautions and follow industry best practices to make sure it is not inappropriately lost, misused, accessed, disclosed, altered or destroyed.
If you provide us with your credit card information, the information is encrypted using secure socket layer technology (SSL) and stored with a AES-256 encryption. Although no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, we follow all PCI-DSS requirements and implement additional generally accepted industry standards.
